Last year, Australia’s Official Lotteries contributed over $1.1 billion to help support community initiatives like in hospitals, schools and sporting groups.
More than $2 Billion prizes paid last year
Nearly double that amount was won by lottery players last financial year. This included more than 415 division one prize winners# and 203 new millionaires in Australia. This isn’t surprising, seeing approximately 60 cents of every dollar you spend on lotteries goes back into prizes for players~.
Supporting over 3800 small businesses
You may not realise that by playing Australia’s official lottery games at your local outlet, you’re supporting small businesses who receive a lottery commission as part of your purchase. Last financial year we paid over $340 million in commission to more than 3800 retailers across Australia (excluding WA).
